12TH INTERNATIONAL RAMAYANA CONFERENCE

The Indological Institute Kern of the University of Leiden,
the Netherlands in cooperation with Vishwa Sahitya Sanskriti
Sansthan will organize the 12th Ramayana conference on August
28-30, 1995. About forty scholars who are actively engaged in
Ramayana research and a few observers will take part in this
international conference. The main theme of the conference is:
Ramayana in Text, Folklore, Performance, and Sculpture. Due
emphasis will be given to the comparative and
interdisciplinary aspects of the Ramayana research. The
conference will try to bring together scholars from East,
South, and Southeast Asia, Europe, and America.
Abstracts of papers are to be sent by March 15, 1995. Each
delegate will get twenty minutes for presentation and ten
minutes will be available for discussion. The conference
proceedings will be published as soon as all the research
papers are available for publication.
