MANUSCRIPTA INDONESICA The Indonesian Linguistics Development Project of the Department of Languages and Cultures of South-East Asia and Oceania, in co-operation with the Legatum Warnerianum in the Library of Leiden University has started a new series of facsimile editions. This series, Manuscripta Indonesica makes available important manuscripts which are part of the Indonesian cultural heritage. Original manuscripts are reproduced without any editorial change, thus maintaining all their characteristics of form, spelling, and other peculiarities. Each publication is preceded by a descriptive introduction which provides data on the history of the manuscript, codicological information, and bibliographical references. Manuscripta Indonesica provides students of philology with the basic tools for research. Two titles have been published so far: Volume 1: Hikayat Isma Yatim by Ismail, and Hikayat Sultan Mogul mengajarkan anaknya, a facsimile edition of manuscript Cod.Or. 1693 in the Library of Leiden University. Volume 2: Mukhtaar Tawþrþkh Al-Wusþ, A short chronicle of the Riau region. A facsimile edition of manuscript Cod.Or. 1999 in the Library of Leiden University.
