HISTORICAL FOUNDATIONS OF A NATIONAL ECONOMY IN INDONESIA

On September 20-22, 1994, the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts
and Sciences is organizing a colloquium under the title
`Historical Foundations of a National Economy in Indonesia'. This
collquium will bring together scholars from Indonesia, Australia,
and the Netherlands. It Forms a follow-up to a similar
conferences in Jakarta (October 1991) and Canberra (November
1992). The ultimate aim to prepare atextbook on the modern
economic history of Indonesia. Local organizers are Dr J. Thomas
Lindblad, Department of History, and Dr Vincent J.H. Houben,
Department of Languages and Cultures of Southeast Asia, both at
the University of Leiden
