SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY & SOCIETYLaunched in 1996, this is the first truly international bi-annual journal devoted to the developing world in the emerging interdisciplinary fields of Science, Technology, and Society Studies (STSS). The relationship between science, technology and society is a complex one, particularly in developing countries. The study of this relationship through scholarly and multidisciplinary inquiry is necessary if we are to understand the ways in which advances in science and technology influence society, and vice versa. Science, Technology and Society invites research articles and reports from scholars in natural and social sciences working in one of the STSS areas of sociology of science and technology, economics of technical change and innovation studies, social history of science, philosophy of science, science policy studies, gender relations in science and technology, development studies relating to science and technology issues, energy and environmental studies, research & development and technology management studies, quantitative studies in science and technology etc. Science, Technology and Society is a peer-reviewed journal which endeavours to combine a scholarly perspective with policy relevant issues drawn from the above fields. It is published in March and September. The editors are V.V. Krishna, CSSP/SSS, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and Roland Waast, Institut de recherché pour le development, Paris. Authors should provide four hard copies of their research contribution. Articles should be between 6000 to 8000 words. *
