The International Covention of Asia Scholars (ICAS) has launched a publication series on Asia Studies at Amsterdam University Press (AUP, see www.aup.nl/).

The ICAS Publications Series consists of Monographs and Edited Volumes. The Series takes a multidisciplinary approach to issues of interregional and multilateral importance for Asia in a global context. The Series aims to stimulate dialogue amongst scholars and civil society groups at the local, regional and international levels.

ICAS commissions and directs the publication programme and handles all author contact prior to manuscript submission, while the practical tasks of setting, printing and distribution are handled by Amsterdam University Press.

Distinguishing features of the series are:

  • Expedient production of books (in less than a year)
  • Relatively low prices (between 30-50 euro)
  • Considerable PR because of the globally distributed IIAS Newsletter, the well-visited websites and social networks
  • Exposure at the two-yearly Convention of Asia Scholars where the books of the series are launched
  • Excellent distribution in Europe, the United States (through Chicago University Press)
  • All the books in the series are available online through Open Access at www.oapen.org.

The many benefits of publishing through ICAS
:

Reviews

ICAS uses its very wide academic network and close relations with academic journals to ensure that reviews are achieved as widely and speedily as possible

Events

ICAS can organize international conferences on the subject of new books soon after publication, aimed both at making new books known and at sparking discussion in the academic community. IIAS will organize book launches whenever possible, either as separate events or in connection with academic conferences or workshops.

Promotion

  • ICAS books are produced and promoted by established, international academic presses with a proven global market reach
  • ICAS books are advertised in each issue of the IIAS Newsletter (circulation 20,000+) and on the popular IIAS website
  • ICAS books, including all relevant backlist titles, are on display at ICAS and IIAS stands at all major academic conferences

HOW TO GET IN TOUCH
