Women warriors in Asia

Feminist scholars have pointed out the neglect of women actors in history and this has led to the writing of women’s narratives and to a more general reexamination of the role played by gender in history and the social sciences. This special issue of IIAS Newsletter highlights a particularly interesting phenomenon, namely that of women’s leadership and participation in warfare and revolution.
